After Michael Østergaard had worked as an IT consultant since 1990, he started
MiCap
in 2003. The idea was (and still is) that
MiCap
offers assistance for roles in SAP projects as Project Manager, Scrum Master, Test Manager, Team Lead, and ABAP developer.
Later on a lot of experience for conversion/migration and education have been added.
The last couple of years the roles has primarily been as Project Manager.
MiCap
is located in Hinnerup, which is 15 km from Århus in the west
part of Denmark.

Since I started at MAS/IBM in 1998 I’ve only worked as Project Manager, Scrum Master, Test Manager, Team lead, and developer in SAP-projects/teams. I’ve had between 4 to 50+ members in the teams I’ve been managing. The most important task for the project to succeed has often been communication. Especially to the business, but also to stakeholders and management. For management not only about scope, project plans, and budget, but also a dialog about the strategy for the project, risks, and mitigation if they appear. Beside that I’ve always prioritised a close dialog with all teams to coordinate plans and resources.
I became a freelance consultant in 2003. Before 1998 I worked at EDB Gruppen in Denmark, where I worked as consultant and team lead with logistic solutions for transporting goods and people. We served customers all over in Scandinavia, Germany, and Poland.
As a person I see myself as extrovert, good at making new relations, and quick to familiarize myself with new topics and issues. My working methods are analytics, systematic and structured. I am self-driven, proactive, and definitely have both enthusiasm and humour. Several customers have said that I’m good at keeping the overview, understanding the business, and explaining technical things for non-technical persons.
